Sea View Elementary Junior Secondary School is located in the community of Port Alice on Northern Vancouver Island. Our school is situated in a beautiful area with sweeping views of Neroutsos Inlet and is surrounded by parks and forests. Sea View has served the families of Port Alice since 1967 and has been long recognized as a place of progressive and high quality learning.
Our school mission is focused on a collective effort to ensure individual student development through effective education, creating a community of learners in a changing world. In addition to a strong core curriculum, students at Sea View are actively involved in inquiry based project learning; Staff at Sea View School have initiated a whole-school morning exercise program, which we are calling Movement to Learn”. This action is based on compelling research that indicates how important exercise is for learning.
We currently have 3 split grade divisions ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 7 allowing us to offer a learning environment and instruction that focuses on the specific strengths and needs of each learner. Sea View takes pride in the caring, family and community atmosphere of our school. The Parent Advisory Committee is highly engaged in supporting our learners ensuring all students are equipped with the necessary resources for learning and helping to coordinate multiple events throughout the school year. PAC has recently provided funding for transportation related to student swimming lessons, ski trips, and bringing Missoula Children’s Theater to our School.
Sea View has strong ties to the community and volunteers are always welcome to help with school related experiences. Please contact the school office if you are interested in volunteering.
